Esther Kim 김에스더
Hi, I am the director of the Denver Korean playschool. I am a mother of three kids, and I have many experiences teaching children. I worked in an English immersion preschool in Korea for two years, and I've been teaching Korean since 2009. For the last four years, I directed a summer camp called Kidz University to serve the Korean Community. I majored in American Sign language Interpreting and in Teaching Korean as Second Language. Currently, I am working on an Early Childhood Education Master's degree at CU Denver. Children have so much potential, and I believe that age 3 to 5 is a critical stage to develop linguistic skills and social-emotional skills. As a Korean immersion school, we will provide a safe and fun learning environment. I am very excited to start a new journey with your children.

저는 세 아이의 엄마로써 아이들을 키우며 어린이 교육에 관심을 가지게 되었습니다. 저는 미국에서 수화통역 전공을 하고 한국에서 (제 2외국어로써의) 한국어학을 전공했습니다. 콜로라도 유아교육 교사 자격 과정을 수료 하고 현재 콜로라도 주립대에서 유아교육 석사 과정을 밟고 있습니다. 저는 언어 교육과 어린이 교육에 다년간 경험이 있습니다. 대학교때 부터 주일학교 교사로 봉사하였고, 한국에서 2년간 목동에서 영어 유치원에서 일했으며, 2009년부터 다솜한국학교, 벅스카운티 한국학교, 한인기독교회 한국학교 교사로 봉사했고 2016년부터 여름캠프 키즈 유니버시티 디렉터로 한인 커뮤니티 교육에 힘써왔습니다. 우리 어린이들은 무한한 가능성을 가지고 있습니다. 이중언어를 구사하기 위해서와 앞으로 행복한 삶을 살아가는데 있어서 3-5세 시기는 매우 중요하다고 생각합니다. 우리 학생들이 두가지 언어를 잘하는 창의적인 어린이들로 교육하는 것이 저희가 해야 할 일이라고 생각하고 미래의 리더들을 길러내겠습니다.

Eunju Kim 김은주
Hello! My name is Eunju.
I am originally from Seoul, Korea. I moved to Denver in 2014 with my husband Lee and my daughter, Nara (She is in 3rd grade). When I was single, I worked in the film industry for 8 years as a marketing director. After I had my daughter, I took a job working in Early Childhood Education and discovered my true passion for teaching!
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification. I taught English to 3 to 6-year-old kids in Korea for two years. Since moving to Denver, I have been teaching preschoolers while working on my director’s certification in Early Childhood Education. I am a certified lead teacher by the state of Colorado and also has director license.
I understand and support developmentally appropriate practices, believe in the value of establishing nurturing relationships as well as creating a supportive environment for children, parents, and fellow teachers. I am so excited to have a fun year with our kids!
안녕하세요. 덴버 한국어 놀이학교 교사 김은주입니다. 저는 한국에서 경제학을 전공하고 영화사 기획팀에서 홍보/마케팅 일을 하였습니다. 결혼 후, 성인과 어린이를 위한 테솔 자격증 과정을 수료하고, 청담어학원 강남지사 소속 교사로 서울 강남에 있는 유치원 몇 곳에서 영어전담 교사를 하였습니다.
2014년 덴버로 이주 후, 리틀턴에 있는 프리스쿨에서 교사로 재직하며 유아교육자격증 과정과 디렉터 자격증 과정을 수료하였습니다. 2018년 부터는 콜로라도 통합 한국학교에 교사로 재직 중이며, 앞으로도 우리 미래 꿈나무들을 위한 놀이 중심의 한국어와 한국어 문화 교육에 힘쓸 것입니다.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration focused in Accounting from Grand Valley State University in Michigan and a Master’s degree in Educational Ministry from Calvin Theological Seminary in Michigan. For the past 9 years, I have been involved with children and youth ministries. I had many opportunities to lead various activities. Teaching and guiding our young children in faith always have been a passion for me. I am excited to be part of Denver Korean Play School.
